Drysuit

Who doesn't like the allure of getting out of the water and being completely dry?

Drysuits come in many different styles and materials. Generally, you'll find the two main types are a shell suit and a neoprene suit. While a neoprene suit may offer some insulating benefit, a shell suit will not. On the flip side, neoprene will compress at depth and could affect buoyancy.

The key thing to remember is that even though they will keep you dry, it's what you wear under adrysuit that keeps you warm. If you're unsure what that means, imagine a steak in a ziplock bag... if you put it in the freezer, even though it won't get anymore wet than it already is, it will still freeze.

Don't forget that a drysuit is like a big air cell. Getting properly trained in it's use should be at the top of your list if you're considering 'going dry'!
