A computer is like an air traffic controller; making sure you start and end the dive safely.

Most current computers will record depth, time, and temperature. Many will also have added features like PC download, digital compass, gas switching, altitude and personal adjustments, and nitrox compatibility. You can also get air integrated computers—wireless or hose-based—allowing you to reduce the number of items on your console.

Some even look like regular watches; allowing you to travel light.
